Top 10 Online Resources for Dental Hygienists & Dental Assistants

By Remington College Posted November 7, 2017

Students in the dental assistant diploma program or the dental hygienists associate degree program can find many valuable resources online for answering questions during their studies and finding help after graduation. With this list of websites, you can find answers to questions about certifications and study materials, drug and disease information, continuing education, and dental industry news.

1. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Division of Oral Health

The CDC publishes materials at the national and state level that are helpful to people who are working in the dental profession or just interested in the guidelines of oral health. Under the "State-based programs" section you can access most state's oral health plan and get information about the new initiatives that are taking place. The site also has sections on school-based water fluoridation and the dental sealant program for schoolchildren if you are curious.

The fact sheets are useful if you are looking for a quick resource guide for patients. They also have information that is specific to children, adults, and the elderly.

They offer free courses & study aids for DANB preparation, and also a list of resources and requirements for dental assistants by state.

If you want to become an expanded function dental assistant, they can offer advice and point you in the direction of certifications that can further advance your career. This site is recommended to anyone who is studying to become a dental assistant or who has been working in the field for a while.
